Our Mission 

Our mission at GDS is to reduce carbon emissions and remove atmospheric carbon in cost effective ways that benefit not only the global climate but also local environments, community groups, and animal and plant biodiversity. GDS is committed to originating and managing only the highest quality carbon projects.  We identify potential carbon projects, work with landowners, concessionaires, investors, and community groups to define and finance the projects, manage project activities, prepare certification documentation, and finally, market and sell the resulting carbon credits on the voluntary market. Over the past 10 years, voluntary carbon markets have emerged connecting project developers that can verifiably reduce carbon in the atmosphere with those that wish to use those reductions to offset their own emissions. We at GDS are proud to mobilize and direct private financing to carbon reduction projects in the Global South, where there is the most potential for economical nature-based projects that reduce carbon emissions and have measurable, positive economic impacts on rural communities.
